YOUR SUBJECT OPTIONS AT KS4

The NATIONAL CURRICULUM offers a broad curriculum for all students. Some subjects are compulsory and others are optional. Each student still has the opportunity to make some choices. When making choices you need to consider:-

	YOUR ABILITY IN THE SUBJECT
	YOUR INTEREST IN THE SUBJECT

We will provide you with the advice you need in order to make the best possible choices and you should discuss the course with your parents, subject teachers, form tutors and careers staff.

The booklet is divided into sections.

Everyone will take:-

	ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE (2 GCSE’S)
	A BROAD BALANCED SCIENCE COURSE (2 GCSE’S)
	MATHEMATICS (1 GCSE)
	I.C.T (2 GCSE’S)
	CITIZENSHIP, PE AND CAREERS (NO EXAM)

In addition everyone will take four of the following G.C.S.E’s.

	ART TEXTILES
	HISTORY RESISTANT MATERIALS
	GEOGRAPHY BUSINESS STUDIES
	PHYSICAL EDUCATION FRENCH
	RELIGIOUS STUDIES GERMAN
	LEISURE & TOURSIM DRAMA
	ELECTRONICS MUSIC
	GRAPHICS DANCE
	ENGINEERING MEDIA STUDIES
	FOOD TECHNO
