The art department is situated on the ground floor of separate building to the main school, on your right as you come up the drive.

There are currently plans to refurbish the art rooms, as it is beginning to become a more popular choice for GCSE candidates. More students than ever before have opted to take art for their options this year, totalling approximately 140 students out of around 220.

There are currently 5 art teachers employed in Dowdales, one of who, Mrs Cramphorn, is on maternity leave, but Mr Malcolm is covering her classes. The other teachers are Mr Howarth, Mr Kenny and Mr Payne..
