Career Focus: Radiography and Theatre

As part of our Inspiring Careers programme we invite professionals from a variety of industries to speak to our Academically Very Able (AVA) students about a career in their chosen field.

We welcomed Craig Anderson, Clinical Tutor and Radiographer at Furness General Hospital as well as three practitioners from the Hospital’s Operating Theatre who spoke to Year 10 and 11 students about the skills and values needed for careers as a Radiographer and Theatre Practitioner and Nurse.

Jane Bayliff, Senior Practitioner at Furness General Hospital, left Dowdales in 1991, said; “It was great to be back at Dowdales, the school has changed so much since I was here but it’s great to be able to come back and help students with their career choices.”
